A group of over a dozen Colombian jewelers are visiting Miami in a exploratory trade mission between the 15 and 19 July 2013 for the purpose of publicizing their products, learning new technologies, and learn about the opportunities provided by the Colombia Trade Promotion Agreement by exchanging information with northamerican colleagues.
The mission is organized by the Jewellers Association of Quindio and by International Trading Center, ITC, an international business incubator that is based in the Miami Free Zone in Doral.
The mission includes accommodations, major conferences, visits to strategic locations, introduction to new equipment, software and service. In addition to a tour of South Florida. The jewelers can meet with experts, colleagues and potential buyers, among other things topresent their offer for the US market.
The Colombian gems are prized in the United States by the quality of their finishing, for the precious stones produced in Colombia and for the Colombian Gold unmatched quality. But it is necessary to come to Miami to search for opportunities through wholesalers, chain stores and much coveted cruise industry, says Monica Patino, Director of Marketing for ITC.
According to Luis Enrique Ochoa, president of the Association of Jewelers of Quindio, jewelers across the country can participate of this mission. ¨ The way is open for all. Never before has a mission like this. “The opportunity is unique, the timing is appropriate,”said Ochoa.
